Privacy Policy

DogsLife is made by mrbooz AB, Sweden ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the DogsLife Android app and this website.

What stays on your phone

Everything you log in DogsLife (your dog's profile and photo, sleep, meals, water, potty breaks, walks, training, health records, vet visits and notes) is stored on your device and backed up to your account, so it is safe if you change phones. Dog photos are backed up as a small, reduced copy.

Location

If you start a walk, DogsLife uses your phone's location to draw the route and measure distance, including while the screen is off, until you finish the walk. The route is saved on your device only. To show maps, the app uses the Google Maps SDK for Android, which downloads map data from Google; Google receives your IP address and the map area shown. See Google's privacy policy.

Notifications

Reminders (potty breaks, vet and booster dates, trial end) are scheduled on your device.

Usage statistics and crash reports (only with your consent)

If the app asks whether you want to share usage statistics and you say yes, DogsLife sends pseudonymous usage data (for example which screens are opened and which features are used, plus technical details such as app version and device model) and crash reports to Google Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics). We use them only to fix problems and improve the app. They never contain what you log about your dog, your photos or your walk routes. If you say no, nothing is sent. Advertising features are always turned off. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by writing to us. Google acts as our processor and may process this data outside the EU/EEA under standard contractual clauses.

Your account

To use DogsLife you create a free account, either with Google or with a sign-in link sent to your email address (no password). Accounts are handled by Google Firebase Authentication. With Google sign-in we receive your Google account name, email address and a user ID; with an email link we receive your email address and a user ID. Your dogs and their records are backed up in Google Cloud Firestore in the EU (europe-north1, Finland) under your account. If you share a dog (a Plus feature), the people you invite can see and log that dog's records, and you can remove them at any time; they never see your other dogs. We process this data to provide the service you asked for.

Weekly note (Plus)

With Plus, DogsLife writes a short weekly note about your dog's week. To create it, only de-identified daily totals (such as minutes of sleep, number of walks, meals and potty breaks), your dog's age in months, its size group and your app language are sent to Anthropic, which generates the text with its Claude AI model. Your name, your dog's name, your notes, photos and places are never sent; the app adds your dog's name on your phone. The finished note is saved with your account backup. Anthropic acts as our processor and does not use this data to train its models.

Purchases

DogsLife Plus is bought through Google Play. Google handles payment; we only learn from Google Play whether your subscription is active. See Google's privacy policy for how Google processes your data.

This website

dogslifeapp.com uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address) for security.

Deleting your data

Delete entries in the app, or uninstall DogsLife to remove its data from your phone. To delete your account, go to Settings, Account, Delete my account. This deletes your sign-in, your access to dogs others shared with you, and every dog you own together with all its backed-up records and photos, right away (a background job finishes within about a day). You can also choose to erase the data on your phone. Entries you logged on someone else's shared dog stay with that dog's owner, shown as "deleted caregiver". Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel it in Google Play. You can also write to us and we will delete your account for you.

Children

DogsLife is not directed at children.
